Software Interface

Washington University Fall 08'

To provide the system with a more centralized control, MATLAB G.U.I elements were used. The G.U.I provides the user with an interactive tool that manages all of the acquisition, processing, and analysis. This approach allows the user to run multiple with varying parameters in a more rapid, user friendly environment. The interface also allows the expansion of analytical tools and exploration of simulated concepts while comparing them to actual experimental results. This simulation feature was found to be one of the most useful tools in the experiment. Most of the actual discoveries were first made in the simulation setting and were then expanded to the real time system. The diagram below shows the overall structure of the software interface. The GUI is composed of 3 primary panels or modes.
